Military Manpower Administration

December 7, 1948 : The Military Manpower Bureau was established as the First Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense.

September 1, 1948 : Military Service Administration was transferred to the Army Headquarters.

September 1, 1953 : The Ministry of National Defense was in charge of conscription system and the Ministry of Home Affairs was in charge of summon system.

September 1, 1954 : The charge of summon system had got back to the Ministry of National Defense.

October 1, 1962 : The City-Provincial Military Manpower Administration was established in major cities in Korea.

August 20, 1970 : The Military Manpower Administration was established under the Ministry of National Defense in accordance with the Government Organization Act.

February 1, 2002 : The Central Physical Examination Agency was opened.

March 25, 2002 : The Call-Center of Military Manpower Administration was opened.

November 20, 2003 : 1 new Bureau within the MMA of its Headquarters and four divisions of the regional branches were created

July 1, 2006 : New horizontal team system was introduced in order to respond to rapid environmental changes.

September 4, 2007 : Headquarter for Social and Welfare Policy was created.

February 29, 2008 : The Social Services & Mobilization Bureau has been made by integrating Headquarters for Mobilization &  Call up with Headquarters for Social Services
